Ask Me If I Care - Kaye Doiron

What you see in front of you
It’s just a ruse
A muse
A rolled up ball of twine
To tie your hands behind your back
And ask you to defend yourself
A line that breathes
That rhymes
That rolls of my tongue
That asks you to bare you soul
And leaves you naked at the shore
Of despair
Still there?
Ask me if I care.

  1. I love the way you use language here. Everything is just so provocative - and you managed to make it rhyme! There's something about this one that once you get to that great last you, you have to go back and read it all over again.
