You reminded me in this one how useful it is to list a character's possessions - it's a perfect way for a reader to get inside a character. But what's so terrific about this, is how you make it so much more than a list. It's practically a poem. And I love 'carry the sweat karma from each place.' Great stuff! btw, I also loved your piece for Flesh and blood. Very hard to choose between them.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this list of contents in a closest. The details are amazing perfect and says a lot without saying much at all. You have some great lines here- three identical black skirts followed by the specifics of what to wear with each- the work out clothes carrying the sweat and karma-and then the last line. The list was a great technique to use to get into the character's head and life.
